We met in the Marching Band at Shaw University. How long have the two of you been a couple? 11 years. Who’s the more outgoing of the two [i.e., the “life of the party”?] I honestly think we both are because we are both very silly. When you have conflict: do you give each other a few hours/days to cool down – or handle issues immediately? We almost always deal with the issue right away.....you never want to go to sleep mad/upset at one another. Age(s) of both parties: William --32. Lacey – 31. What are your occupations? William - Retail Sales Manager for T-Mobile. Lacey - Call Quality Management for Alliance Data. Who’s a better dancer? Lacey is definitely the better dancer. Most memorable date: We love to eat….so we spend a lot of time in Pappadeaux and Benihana. Is it mandatory to always reach an understanding – or do you sometimes agree to disagree? We dont think it is absolutely necessary. When you have two people there are going to be disagreements -- and it’s up to the couple to work through those. Who’s the better cook between you two? Lacey is the better cook and William is the better baker. Where’d you go on your very 1st date? We went to the movies to see The Ring. How’d you know the relationship had staying power? I think we knew the relationship was getting serious when I used to drive to St. Louis to see her and I met her parents, family, friends, etc. How’d your husband propose? He proposed the day after Christmas [in front of the Christmas tree in our living room.] In your opinion: do you think it’s good to date a lot of folks before marriage? [Please tell us why/why not]. I wouldnt say as many people as possible, but I will say everyone should date a couple of people before committing to a serious relationship. I believe meeting new people and getting to know them helps one to figure out different personalities and helps narrow down what they like/dont like in a mate. ~BN~
