BLD 25th Anniversary Announcement_ September 16, 2014 1. Good evening Joyful People of the BLD Community! Finally… Our year-long celebration is culminating this week! 2. What a fitting way to thank the Lord with the enthronement of St. John Paul II as our BLD-Cebu Patron Saint right on this day.. when it was exactly on Sept. 15-17, 25 years ago that the first marriage encounter was held in Cebu that sowed what is now, the BLD-Cebu District… to-date, with thousands of couples, families and individuals whose lives the Lord changed since their own weekend encounters… Yes, 25 years we saw how BLD Cebu has grown because you and I, everyone of us, remained faithful, despite the imperfect community we ourselves make it as it is or a community we can strive together to improve on and strengthen... Great reasons to Celebrate… because through BLD, and now with our new intercessor, St. John Paul II, we shall be tightly hugged in the loving care and protection of the Lord! Amen? 3. Let us Celebrate in Thanksgiving and watch or sing with BLDs in-house talents, the Silver Euphonic Chorale during the Musical Show dubbed as “One Covenant, One Voice”. This will be on Friday, September 19, at Mariners Court. 4. Reminders: We are asking all Apostolates to turn over their unsold tickets as well as their cash payments of sold ones not later than 12noon tomorrow at the Secretariat Office. Unreturned tickets are considered sold. Thereafter, all tickets will be sold by the Treasury Ministry c/o the BLD Secretariat. As advised, we anticipate traffic and parking area congestion... So we encourage you to organize car pooling in groups. We have however secured permit from the Mayor’s office and CITOM that we can park at designated streets outside the Mariners Court. Just don’t leave valuables in your car. Seats are on a First-Come, First-Served Basis in the areas allocated per your ticket colors: Red (P500) in front, Blue (P300) at the Sides, Yellow (P150) at the Back Portion. Admission shall start at 6pm. Show starts at 7:00pm with a 30-minute intermission at 8:00pm. Show ends at about 9:30pm. 5. GRAND HOMECOMING... May we again challenge everyone that as we celebrate, we also have to remember and be grateful for people who brought or invited us to BLD… People we wish to be here with us like our weekend encounter classmates, your LSS Shepherd, your Encounter or LSS Lambs and the people you also invited to join BLD… lets take the extra mile to invite them to the GRAND REUNION-HOMECOMING AND FAMILY DAY... combined, on Sunday, September 21 at the gym of the University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) in Salinas Drive, Lahug. Come in your BLD anniversary shirt or any BLD while shirt. An extra shirt may be a good idea in case you sweat it out in dancing or in the boodle lunch. 6. Particularly, for the Boodle Mechanics: Each cluster is provided with 2 tables and a 4.5m x 6m Tent for those who will be assigned in the open grounds Program Committee will provide banana leaves but cluster members shall provide for the Food, drinks, utensils (if any), etc. A few food concessionaires will also be selling some food and drinks in the venue for those who cannot bring food. 10. Those who wish to decorate their tent/ area can come during ingress or early morning of Sunday 21 Sept. 12. Members of each cluster shall coordinate as to what food items to bring We may bring out chairs from the gym venue during lunch but make sure to bring it back for the afternoon program 13. Update on Raffle Prizes: Raffles: With your 100 pesos donation, you can win a package tour trip, overnight accommodation in a resort hotel, electronic gadgets, home items and many many more … 16. As announced, Sun Travel donated a major prize of a Tour Package to Jeju Island, South Korea for 5 days, good for one (1) person, the holder of the ticket 17.
