BNA Bank of Union County recently received the CREATE Foundation’s McLean Award for Philanthropy at CREATE’s annual Fall Summit on November 7th in Tupelo. The McLean Award for Philanthropy was established to honor those individuals, families and organizations that exemplify CREATE Founders George and Anna Keirsey McLean’s spirit of charitable giving. It recognizes the extraordinary leadership of people working to improve the quality of life in their communities and in the northeast Mississippi region CREATE President Mike Clayborne said, “BNA Bank has a long and varied history of philanthropy in Northeast Mississippi.” He further said, “BNA Bank exemplifies Founder George McLean’s words of accepting the responsibility of “raising the level of the people of Mississippi – economically, educationally, spiritually and otherwise”. BNA Bank has made many contributions to its community. It has supported Boy Scouts, Healthworks, Cotton States baseball league, Freedom Celebration, Book scholarships, Skip Gleason Memorial Golf Tournament, New Albany Elementary School, Tanglefoot Trail, Junior Auxiliary, Tallahatachie River Run 5k race, BNA Bank-New Albany food drive, and many other projects that benefit the northeast Mississippi region, James (Bo) Collins, CEO and President and Vance Witt, Chairman of the Board received the award on behalf of the BNA Bank Board of Directors.
