BODACIOUS BIRDS: ( could not find the word in the dictionary. It comes from North America (Canada) bold+audacious=bodacious (thankyou Google). At our previous home on 2 1/2 acres (in a tropical rainforest environment) we had free roaming peacocks who were looked after by neighbours across the street (end of a cul-de-sac which backed onto a large reserve.) Most people liked their presence. I particularly liked their haunting call. However, the blow-ins into this very private street did not like their droppings on their cars and driveways and the noise they made jumping on top of metal carports. They slowly eliminated this brood, and then moved on themselves. I think the long-term stayers have been re-introducing them. It was reported in our local papers as The Peacock Wars of Ruskin Rowe, Avalon, (Sydney. Australia) and made quite a splash in the newspaper. The peacock originally came from Africa, then India. It is an introduced bird in many environments around the world. They are truly BODACIOUS.
