BOILERMAKER The incumbents will work as part of a maintenance team, which is responsible for maintenance in the Concentrator department Secondary crushing section. The shutdown team is required to work shifts. Responsibilities will include: • Carrying out boilermaking repairs and maintenance on building and equipment structures, conveyor chutes, ore feeders, vibrating screens, cone crushers, ore bins, and various pipelines. • Involvement in small projects to improve equipment. • Assisting supervisor in compliance with planned maintenance system. • Ensuring adherence to HSEQ standards. • Carrying out LEGAL checks. Intrinsic Qualities • Good working knowledge of the core process. • Must have a good understanding of the Palabora Integrated HSEQ system, especially HIRMs and Isolation procedures. • Good communication skills. • Must be a self starter requiring minimal supervision. • Must be able to identify potential hazards related to job and take action to perform all work within the framework of safe work practices provided. • Must be willing to work shifts when required. • Must be adaptable to change. • Must take ownership of work area and task performed. Qualifications & Experience • Qualified Boilermaker. • Valid driver’s licence. • Computer literacy. • Preferably the holder of a valid first aid certificate. • Minimum of two years experience in boilermaking, in the crushing and conveying / plant environment.
