BOKO-HARAM. Some of the northern leaders are more concerned - TopicsExpress

BOKO-HARAM. Some of the northern leaders are more concerned with power than development of their region. Boko-haram and other violence/ killings in the north is a less important issue than attaining power as far as these leaders are concerned. Whatever the north is facing today, only the north can solve it and not the president. Leaders (both religious & political) should advise or caution their followers. The funniest thing is these same leaders have brain washed their citizens to believe outsiders/the government are responsible for these attack. What a foolish propaganda! This government has not done well and i cant rate them as good governance but anyone desperate for power irrespective of your region is not fit to be a leader. Nelson Mandela practically defined leadership in his service to the people of south Africa. This should be a standard for most African leaders. Im not pointing fingers at anyone but there is no way citizens from the north will go to the south and become militants just as citizens from the south, east, or west can not go to the north to constitute terror. The members of Boko-haram are mainly from northern states with reference to both their leader and some members that have been caught in the past. If anyone from the east, west, south, or outside Nigeria or Africa is sponsoring them to destroy their own land as claimed by some northern leaders; then it shows how senseless these people are. You can not give bomb to an Igbo man to commit suicide in return for financial or heavenly promises! What about a yoruba? Be it a muslim or christian, a typical yoruba man will not tie bomb to his body or vehicle to kill himself and other people in return for money or heavenly promises. In which part of the country do we hear news of individuals going to schools where innocent children are learning just to open fire on them, killing future leaders? Is it the east, north, south, or west? Of course it is the north! Every region suffers from one crime issue or the other but the north is getting out of hand. There are kidnappings in the east, militants in the south, criminal groups in the west but none of these bring grave onslaught on the masses as Boko-haram does. If you say you are fighting against the government; why do you go to schools to kill innocent children of poor masses. Are they the government? Why do you kill people in the name of religion? Why do you slaughter your fellow men who did nothing to you? Why do you destroy/ demolish infrastructures meant for the general masses? Why Bokoharam? If the current government is not functioning as expected, if there is need for opposition or rebel groups then such a group must have a clearly defined objectives with the welfare of the people at heart. Unless the north tell her citizens the truth, unless she caution her lads, unless education and infrastructural development becomes paramount in the north, terrorism will continue to soar in her land. Religion is no excuse to kill. Power intoxicates but where there is love, togetherness, and peace; ambition will bow before wisdom, no one will remember who is from the north, south, west, east, or who speaks a different language. I am equally using this medium to call on the government at both federal, state, and all levels to step up their game. This epileptic style of governance will lead us no where. To my people(both home and abroad); lets embrace peace. Let no one see this message as a biased or political admonishment of the northern region. I am not a politician. Im a statesman. The welfare of the common masses is my only concern. No citizens life is worth the ambition of any politician. We all have a role to play in the growth of this nation called Nigeria. The parents, youths, elders all have a role to play. The man who fears God,who values life, and fears to kill was raised by somebody. Before we rain curses on the government, let us take a look at the type of children weve raised with our own hands. The worst government is a parent who can not control their child. If people from different continents(coun try, race,or colour) can live in America as neighbours, i see no reason why a nation with people of one colour but diverse language can not live together. For unity to exist in our communities; we must not compromise peace for selfish ambitions, we must learn to tolerate others irrespective of tribe or religion, we must learn to propagate the language of peace. Africans unite! -Japhet Agbamu17/01/ 2014#BOKO-HARAM#
