BOMa LA A MAYI No arrest has been made in connection with the shooting of the budget director in the ministry of finance Paul Mphwiyo. Mphwiyo was shot on Friday night at his area 43 home in Lilongwe. He is currently receiving medical treatment in South Africa, and his situation has been described as critical but stable. A statement from the Office of the President and cabinet described Mphwiyo’s shooting as a planned and targeted attack aimed at silencing him and the government against high level corruption and fraud. It says the government’s effort in fighting corruption will not be deterred by the incident. It assures the nation and the family of Mphwiyo that it will do everything in its power to save his life. Meanwhile the police have launched a man hunt for the suspects.
