BORED ?? BORED !!! What sort of a statement is Im bored for a Christian to make ? What is this telling the world ? Far too often, when a young person asks to befriend or join a Christian group, I see this statement ( Im bored) on their timeline...generally followed by several !!! s. lol....then I see how much they love Jesus. Oh, really ? This is what Jesus would reply: John 14:15 ► If you love me, keep my commands. What are His commands ? First, love Him with all your heart soul and mind and THEN ....love your neighbour as yourself. This includes : feeding the poor, helping widows and orphans, visiting the sick and those in prison AND spreading the Gospel....on the street, at work and at home ( on Faithbook for example.) Scrolling down I see no encouraging, challenging, instructive, enquiring posts about Jesus OR the Word....so even at home, in warmth and comfort , there is NO effort to even share their beloved Jesus. Bored ?? You should be falling into bed at night, exhausted.........exhausted from keeping Christs commands. When we can say that we do not have enough hours in the day to do the things Jesus commands us to do....that is when the word bored will disappear from our vocabulary.....to be replaced with Praise you Jesus for the divine appointments you gave me today. What happened to loving being a Christian......to the challenges , the trials and tribulations to conquer, the victory to celebrate, the work we have been given, the joys we experience, the love we shed abroad and receive......what happened to preaching this to the youngsters in the congregation ......or discipling them so that they go with us to do these things....to give of themselves and to expect nothing in return ? Pastors.....wake up and shake up ! The harvest is ripe but the workers are few. No wonder Jesus ponders of how many righteous, obedient Christians He will find on His return. Cmon, young people...get out there. Go into your community. help wherever you see a need...all you have to do is stand still and look around...you will find all the needs that you can handle. THEN boredom, which is a tool of the enemy, will flee. Simple, really.
