BORROWED FROM Theresa Torres = What kind of parent are we? What kind of example are we setting in your home for our children? Do they love Christ because of our Holy example? Parents often disregard the importance of having Christ as the center of our homes. We have a tremendous responsibility as parents to have a real heart experience with Jesus, then we can have the mind of God to rear our children. Proverbs 22:6, train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. Countless young people drift into sin because they have not been trained in the way of the Lord. Are we faithful in training our children with a solid spiritual foundation? Parents form the mold into which our children are poured until they are firm in the knowledge of Christ in spiritual truth. Ezekiel 16:44b..as is the mother, so is the daughter. Neglected spiritual matters by parents becomes evident in the behavior of the children. Our task is to lead our children (the children God HAS TRUSTED us with) in the way of Christ. In my home I have always said "monkey see, monkey do" to the older two. I tell them that they have someone younger watching and learning from them. Well today God humbled me with my own words of "monkey see, monkey do". I again let my guard down to allow the devil to slip sin (even if it appears as "fun") into my home. We as parents are ALWAYS being watched by our kids; in our words, how we react to situations, how often we are in our Bible and what we allow into our homes. I pray that God always reminds me, like He did today that I want to raise my children on a strong spiritual foundation, not ones with cracks of compromise! - Thanks for this excellent reminder Theresa Torres
