BRAD KESELOWSKI DENNY HAMLIN Question: Brad Keselowski, - TopicsExpress

BRAD KESELOWSKI DENNY HAMLIN Question: Brad Keselowski, what happened to Denny Hamlin? Keselowski: Well, first, I think the Detroit Genuine Parts Ford was good today. We thought we were going to have a fourth or fifth place run and didnt catch a break. I’m proud of everyone on Team Penske and through the sequence of events, the No. 20 car was in back of me and I wasnt mad at him. But when the last yell came out, he got the way around and he came back and swung at my car and tore the front of the car off. And we started the fifth with no front, we fell back to 16th and ruined our day and gave us a big Chase hurt, which is unfortunate and for some reason after the race, the No. 11 stopped in front of me and tried to pick a fight. I dont know what that was about. And he swung and hit at my car and I figured if we are going to play car wars, I’ll join too. You know those guys can dish it out but they can’t take. And I gave it back to them and now they want to fight. I dont know what’s up with that. Question: What about the contact on pit road with the No. 20 and the No. 14 of Tony Stewart? Keselowski: I rubbed in the No. 20 and I think he gassed up and ran into Tony, and I don’t think Tony knew what was going on. He is upset and he has every right to be. His car was tore up. There was a whole lot of other stuff going on, I’m sure when he sees the whole situation, he will understand. Question: Denny Hamlin, talk about the aggression on the track and the aggression afterward. Hamlin: We were on the green and white checkered and brad was behind us. We knew he was going be aggressive because it is his only shot and he ran into it us and knocked us up the racetrack and I showed my displeasure on the cool down lap and I brake checked him down the backstretch to give everyone the whole story. And then he tried to spin us out. Then we got to pit lane and he plowed into the 14 and the 20. And 20, his belts were off, and he ran into him, and then ran into us again coming off pit road. And then he went through the garage and did burn outs and he knocked somebody’s transmission clear through body else’s pit stall. He’s just out of control. We got to think about us here going forward, that’s the important thing. NASCAR said ‘no tolerance for stuff like that,’ and you got to be a bit more mature. I’m proud of my FedEx Ground Team. We didn’t have the greatest car today, but we battled back and had a top-five car there at the end, but got knocked around on that restart. Still an overall decent day for us. Question: With what NASCAR is telling you, this can’t carry over, this has to stop here? Hamlin: NASCAR hasnt told me anything. They told me, dont go after him. You’ve got too much to lose. If I would have wrecked, he would have been in big trouble. I would have been waiting for him. He cost us six spots, but what goes around comes around.
