BRADLEY HOOKS THE MOST, BUT CHRIS LANDS THE BIG ONE The Rotary Club of Corringham Thameside hosted their annual fishing day for handicapped and special needs children at South Ockendon on Sunday 21st July. Each of the children were helped by an experienced fisherman from the Anniversary Fishing Syndicate, who provided all the necessary equipment and bait. For four hours, in bright sunshine the children enjoyed the fishing experience and over 100 fish were landed. Bradley Sykes caught a very creditable 48 fish, whilst Chris Watts landed the biggest catch of the day with a 12lb 10oz common carp. The Rotarians were kept busy providing the youngsters and others present weith a constant supply of hamburgers, hot dogs and of course plenty of soft drinks. All of the children were presented with trophies to mark the occasion by club president Danny Lawrence. THe fishing club also presented the rotary club with a most welcome cheque for £250 to support their charity work. A most appreciated donation.
