Tejan Sie Takes a Blow for Kapen Reports reaching Salone Times reveal that the struggle for power in the main opposition Sierra Leone People Party (SLPP) is far from over. It was in Jackie Chan fashion when the Southern Regional Chairman of SLPP Edward Suluku, during a fracas, threw a blow aimed at his National Chairman Somanoh Kapen. Kapen who saw the blow coming, like a professional boxer, dodged the blow by the time it came his way. The unsuspecting party Secretary General Tejan Sie who was close to his national chairman was not so lucky as the thrown punch landed on his face in full force. This street fight, at George Street in Freetown at a pub called Marine Gas Owned by an entrepreneur called Nigel, eyewitnesses say, looked like any orchestrated street fight in a Chinese movie. Eye witnesses were stunned as the SLPP Pa-O-Pa Big Men were disgracing and molesting one another in public, a situation which brought traffic to a standstill as everyone was stunned by the action of the Pa-O-Pa Strong Men. Mohamed Sesay a member of the Sierra Leone People Party who was at the scene said that the fight emanated at City Pavilion, a pub very close to the SLPP headquarters where supporters of Maada Bio had an altercation with Somanoh Kapen. He explained that Somanoh Kapen later escaped from the Pa-O-Pa gang in the SLPP thinking that he would find solace in Nigel’s Bar, only for him to be targeted again by another Maada Bio Strong Man called Edward Suluku aka Solution. It is also reported that the former National Chaplain of the party, Gilbert Harding was also beaten and his phone seized by supporters of the Pa-O-Pa but he was advised by the chairman to make a report to the police.
