BREAKING NEWS: # GOMINAAJIMOBI IN FRESH TROUBLE! •Internal Opposition Mounts Against Him# Second term ticket for Gov. Ajimobi might have faced a threat, as a group within his party, the newly registered APC, has come out criticising the programmes of his administration Under the aegis of ‘APC Joint Stakeholders’, the group picked holes in the various programmes of his administration at its meeting with loyalists of the late Lam Adesina in Ibadan. Governorship candidate of the defunct CPC in the state, Shittu Adebayo, who spoke at the meeting, assured the gathering that a new government that would be pro-masses and have compassion for the traders would be installed in the state in 2015. He said: “A collective leadership would also run the affairs of the party in the state. In 2015, a new government will come and put an end to the suffering of the people of the state and members of the APC. The new government shall implement true free education, free health and engage the unemployed youths productively. “We will not give them N10,000 or N9,000 but pay them what Level 8 civil servants earn. There is money in Oyo State to cater for these and many more as well as give out interest-free loans to the traders. A new dawn is coming in the state in 2015 and it is the members of the party that will decide who will be governor. Never shall imposition of governorship candidate be permitted in the APC in Oyo State,” he said. The group called on the interim national executive members to disregard the clamour for a modification of the guidelines for composition of State Harmonisation Committee (SHC). The call came against the background of a petition claimed to have been forwarded to the interim committee by the pro-Ajimobi faction, expressing the faction’s displeasure over the guidelines for the formation of the state committee. Among other functions, SHC is to harmonise the executive structures of the merged parties across the 36 states and the FCT. He said the clamour by the faction was for selfish reasons and not in the interest of the teeming members of the parties that make up APC and should therefore be discountenanced. Shittu assured APC members at the well-attended meeting held at the Parliament Building in the premises of Gbadamosi Olowoporoku Adesina Memorial Mosque, Felele, that their labour of love for the progressive family, which was in vain in the defunct ACN, would bear good fruits in the APC. Speaking in the same vein, ANPP governorship candidate in the 2011 election, Wale Olatunji, urged the loyalists of the late former governor called “Lamists” to endure the hardship they were experiencing, as four years would soon end. “Today, there are many words to speak. But we have kept those words in the ‘word bank’ till close to 2015 when they will have yielded ‘interest’ and would be mature to be uttered,” he said
