BREAKING NEWS~Jubilations Erupts In Ado-Ekiti As Fayose Losses In Court!!! There were wide jubilations in Ado-Ekiti the Ekiti State capital on Monday morning as the State High Court chaired by Justice O.O. Ogunyemi,quashed Mr Ayodele Fayoses bid to stop the suit challenging his eligibility to vie for the office of the State Governor which he contested and purportedly won on June 21,2014. The APC and the E11 had in May 2014,approached the Ekiti State high Court asking it to ban Mr Ayodele Fayose from participating in the last June 2014 governorship election on the ground that the former was impeached from office in 2006 and hes also standing trial over an alleged poultry scam to the tune of 1.9billion while in office between 2003-2006. Counsel to Mr Fayose had prayed the court to throw-out the case on the premise that the court lacked the jurisdiction to entertain the matter brought before it.But the presiding judge threw out the argument and subsequently assumed jurisdiction on the matter. It would be recalled that Mr Peter Ayodele Fayose was impeached in 2006 by the Ekiti State House of Assembly headed by the Right Honourable Friday Aderemi of his blessed memory over gross abuse of office and financial recklessness. When Garden City Daily Post went out to sought the opinion of legal experts,Mr Abayomi Kalejaye,a Port Harcourt based legal practitioner confided in our reporter that the case was a very sensitive one that has to be dealt with with all scrupulous legal attention required.If the 1999 constitution is to be respected to the latters,Fayose is not fit under the law to contest election unless a court of competent jurisdiction clears him of the weighty allegations that led to his impeachment in 2006he said.
