BREAKING NEWS: PDP AGENT SHOT DEAD IN IBEJU-LEKKI LAGOS BY THE APC THUGS An electoral agent of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State has been shot dead Sunday afternoon while monitoring the ongoing distribution of Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVC). Mr. Sikiru Ogboye, a PDP Agent, was shot dead, allegedly on the orders of a chieftain of the All People’s Congress (APC) by suspected thugs, while he monitored the PVC Distribution exercise. Police from Ajiwe Police Station, Ajah in Ibeju-Lekki, where the report was made, immediately arrested two APC chieftains over the Sunday killing. Those arrested yesterday included: An APC Governorship Aspirant, Dr. Tola Kasali, and a Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor, Alhaji Muslim Tele Folami. According to eyewitness accounts, the shooting took place around 2pm. PDP chieftains reported that Ogboye was monitoring the exercise at the Oriledu Ibeju-Lekki area, when he asked to be given the accurate number of those who had so far collected PVCs. “Governor Fashola’s Special Adviser immediately asked his party’s thugs to deal with him, and one of them produced a gun and shot him point blank,” a PDP chieftain narrated. Police waded in to investigate the incident and later found guns on some APC supporters. The initial report was made to policemen at the Ajiwe Police Station, Ajah in Ibeju-Lekki, who arrested the culprits. Bemoaning the killing, a PDP chieftain, Chief Bode Oyedele, described it as a wicked and needless action that snuffed out the life of an enterprising, young man. He said it was a bad sign that highlighted the violent do-or-die politics that APC had marshaled out for opponents in Lagos and the entire country towards the 2015 elections.
