BREAKING NEWS!!! Shooting in SM MOA. MANILA, Philippines (3rd UPDATE) - A shooting occurred at the Mall of Asia in Pasay City Sunday evening, March 30, creating panic among customers and wounding one, according to eyewitnesses and a mall official. The mall official told Rappler that the shooting apparently occurred in one of the stores inside the mall. Guards were forced to close all shops at the mall, keeping customers inside. Rapplers Jum Balea, who is in the mall, said the guards told them there was a shooting. Balea said customers were shouting and running when they first heard the order from the guards. By 8 pm, one suspect – apparently a member of a robbery gang – was arrested at the Tokyo Tokyo restaurant, the mall official said. The official spoke on condition of anonymity since he was not authorized to speak. As of 8:20 pm, Balea said, Were calm now since the doors had been brought down and so we feel a bit safe. The wounded was immediately brought to a nearby hospital, the same official added. Customers were finally allowed to leave the shops at 8:30 pm, according to Balea. A store manager told Rappler that at least two suspects tried to enter a jewelry shop, with one running past a bag inspection.
