The player has not attended training for the last two weeks as he protested the move which nearly saw his father get arrested. Wanyonyi was not in the team when they played Bandari and was not in squad for Sunday’s league match against Mathare United at Nyayo Stadium. Speaking exclusively to Jarunda Jaluth Mambobiad on Sunday, Wanyonyi said he feels cheated by AFC Leopards’ officials and can no longer continue to play for the club. I was cheated by AFC Leopards’ officials. They gave me a cheque knowing very well they did not have money in the account. My father was nearly arrested apart from being penalized by the bank. It was a well calculated move since they knew I could not do anything after the window had closed. Now I am telling them that I would rather stay home than play for them. I want out and will wait for the new window to open. They have spoiled my chances of playing football this season and wish they could have left me where I was. He also denied an explanation by AFC Leopards Organising Secretary Timothy Lilumbi that he had been issued with a post-dated cheque.
