#BRIDALREQUEST! Can you help? We have a bridal request: I booked trial wedding and hair at the salon within the hotel that I am having my reception in. As there was only two months between the 2 dates (my trial and the date of my wedding) I also booked and paid a deposit for my wedding hair and make up. (for my mum, my matron of honour and myself) I attended my trial on Saturday (just me and my MOH) and was really unhappy and upset with the results and the service provided by the salon. The girl that did our hair was unskilled in putting up hair for weddings my hair looked nothing like what I had asked for and it was not a complicated style (telling us that she was self taught not been on any courses etc but was hoping to do one soon) make up was ok but with in 1 hour of our appt was starting to melt off my face. For this I paid £140. Feeling really worried (I had thought I would be happy when I saw what everything was going to look like for the big day) I emailed the owner of the salon telling her of my dissatisfaction and asking if they would return the deposit paid for my wedding day so that I could find someone else to do my hair and make up. Today I received a reply saying that she was sorry I was disappointed, that her staff were both trained and she offered no recompense or resolution to my unhappiness (ie to go back and try again) but saying that my deposit was non refundable and if I wanted to keep my appointment in November that was fine but I should let her know. I am so angry but what can I do? Take it on the chin and accept my money has been lost or keep fighting to get my money returned for the appointment I am not planning to keep? Who do I go to next, if I cant get satisfaction from the Salon owner.
