Jessica Springer has completing her EMT course at College of the Redwoods, Teresa Stewart and Jessica attended officer training, Norman Grant completed his wildland courses with Humboldt Regional Occupation Program (HROP) and Tammy Farmer received her certificate in incident command. Thank you to all members for volunteering your time to better your skills to help our community. The BVFD would like to welcome back Cal Fire to the Bridgeville station. Fire season is here and we need to think about fire safety and defensible space around our homes. The lean, clean and green zone is the 100ft area surrounding your home. Keep this area free of debris and overgrown landscaping. The annual Crayton C. Sauers rifle raffle is here. This fundraiser continues to help get us through the tough times when funds are short. First prize is a Marlin 30-30 lever action rifle, second prize is a one night stay at Benbow Inn with dinner and a round of 18 holes for 2, third prize is a pick-up load of firewood, and forth prize is an ATV helmet. Thank you to our sponsors Redwood Marine and Verison Wireless of Fortuna for your contributions. Appreciation to our donors Benbow Inn, Laurie King and Suzie Pond and to Fortuna Tire and Cycle. Tickets are $10 each or 5 for $40. The drawing will be held on Father’s Day June 16th at the pancake breakfast 8:30-11:00. The next Fire Department meeting is June 7th at 6pm at the BCC.
