**BRING YOUR BUSINESS IDEA TO THE EXPO!** FORWARD TO FRIENDS ENTREPRENEURS OR JUST PEOPLE WITH GREAT IDEAS! INNOVATION AND IDEAS ALL DAY Do You have an INNOVATIVE IDEA and wish to test it on a critical audience? In order to bring a higher level of enthusiasm to the Business and Career expo, the PHHCC is introducing an Innovation Pitch Contest. This program will provide innovators and entrepreneurs an opportunity to demonstrate and pitch their business to the audience and receive constructive feedback. Time: The contest will last 45 minutes starting at 7:15pm. Each participant will have 3 minutes. Any time beyond that will be deducted in increments of 1 minute. Structure – The contest will have up to 7 entrants who will each take 3 minutes to pitch an “innovative idea” to the audience. The audience will vote in silence using prepared cards. The presenters will be judged on the following criteria (grade 1>10). • Creativity • Financing the project • Presentation • Inspiration • Usefulness The tally cards will be collected and the winner will be announced that evening. Entries Complete the application online at PHHCC website (phhchamber). In addition to completing the application, the outline of your business presentation should be sent for approval (up to 500 words) and submitted by October 4th. All ideas and inventions should be patented prior to presentation. PHHCC will not be held responsible for unauthorized use of presented ideas. •Acceptance – Your application will be confirmed by October 8th prior to the event in order to give the contestant enough time to prepare. •Event Day - Arrive at least one hour early on the day of the event. The contest will begin promptly at 7:15 pm. Scoring – Scoring will be on a points system. The participating audience will judges the contest. Each will have a card with the points scale. Creativity 25 • Financing the project 25 • Inspiration 25 • Usefulness 25 An automatic deduction of 5 points per minute will be imposed for every minute after the 4th minute. The timekeeper will determine the number of minutes over the allotted 3 minutes. Prizes will be awarded for various categories and prize donors will be publicly recognized. Answers to important questions: Who should participate? An Entrepreneur, Inventor, or Innovator who has developed a product or service and needs funding, marketing or to have an audience test for commercialization. Can slides be used during the presentation? You may use a slide presentation. You must be able to communicate the value of the product or service within 3 minutes or less. 4 – 6 slides are the general norm. The focus should not only be on the product and service but also on the business use (of the product or service) including the target market, and practical usefulness.
