My aim is to create the best possible relationship between you and your pet – giving you the tools to connect to and understand you’re pet, and for them to understand you. Here are the subjects that I go through with you in this seminar: - Sorting out all problems no matter how big or small they are. - Teaching them from puppy to senior as animals are never too young to learn or change their behaviour. - Never take it personally. - All animal behaviours can be changed and all animals can be connected to, including cats, dogs and horses. - Never avoid problems as it only escalates, and never allow bad behaviour or for them to get away with it. You are the leader of the pack. If there is a problem that has started all of a sudden, sometimes it can be illness causing them to react the way they are, trying to get your attention. - Connecting to your animal through energy and body language. You will be amazed at what they tell you, creating a life long connection to them which is easily understood by both you and your pet. - If it is behaviour problems and there has been a change of circumstances, such as a new pet in the house, someone they love has moved out of the house or perhaps you have moved, this can create a problem for pets. - It all depends on their personality too. If they are a nervous pet, then change of circumstances can cause them enormous anxiety. - Disobedience. Often they dont really know it is bad and you have to determine whether they do or dont understand. - Obsession. Usually obsession goes much deeper than just an obsession for an object and you have to create a diversion and find out what the problem is that’s caused this. - ‘Possession’ and ‘possessive’ are two entirely different things. Are they possessive of you? If so, this needs to be dealt with straight away. - Different pets have a different type of dominance and this can often lead to aggression. Aggression can be caused by many different reasons – humans can unwittingly cause aggression; other pets and food can also cause aggression; also fearfulness, and there are many levels of this. - Connecting to our pet many times a day can get to the bottom of what is causing them to act like this. We have to ask - why do they do this? And there are many reasons why. You need to get to the crux of the problem immediately. Is it to do with their past history as a traumatic event, even as a puppy, or were they a rescue dog with a traumatic past? Whatever the problem is, it cannot be ignored as it will only escalate. - Are they allowed to get away with this problem? If so, change that immediately. Are they doing this for attention? Are they feeling instability? Even the most loved dogs can feel instability. Instability and being unbalanced are not the same. - Frustration. There can be many reasons for this, e.g. it could be lack of exercise, lack of human contact, the size of the yard or boredom. - Ask yourself: do they get their own way a lot, and if they do you need to become the leader. Once again, it is only natural for a dog to have a leader and if they feel you are not leading them, they will take control and become your leader. My 5 Ps are: 1. POSITIVE THINKING 2. PATIENCE 3. POSTURE (calmness and checking you own body language) 4. PERSISTENCE 5. PRAISE You need to make sure you fix all the problems and not just some of them. They must respect you before you can truly have any kind of good relationship with them – they basically look at you as their boss.
