Goals – I Pearce. BBH Netball Match Reports A1 BBH 32 drw NC 32 In both the first and second quarters North got off to a good start with BBH pegging them back later in the quarter. Kirsty Smith created many turnovers for North. Kate Phin and Sharee Stockman were great in defence for BBH and the centre court and goalies fought back from 8 down to draw the game. Best Player: Kate Phin. Incentive: Megan Brooks. A2 BBH 18 lst NC 39 North Clare came out firing with 5 quick goals and were up by 13 at quarter time. BBH had some good passages of play, but struggled to capitalise on the turnovers and had an injury in GA Kelly Bavistock. Great defence by North’s Rachel Pearce and brilliant shooting by Sonia and Renee. BBH’s Nicole Radford and Emma Shattock in defence were great. Best Player: Nicole Radford. Incentive: Caitlin Drew. B2 BBH 40 lst NC 42 The first half saw a very quick game with a lot of turnovers and North capitalising to be up by 6 in the first half. North fed well to a very tall GA Jo Goodwin. BBH made a few changes which worked well in the second half. Great defence from Hannah Farrelly and Bec Daniels saw BBH closing the gap. Last quarter saw North applying pressure. BBH girls were determined for a win, but ran out of time. Bad luck girls. Great game. Best Player: Megan Rayson. Incentive: Bec Daniels. C1 BBH 37 def NC 14 Defensive pressure all game by Amy Gogoll (NC) ensured BBH goalies Tyla Alderson and Courtney Tippet had to work hard which they did. Kimberley Tippet in WA for BBH re-offered and picked up lots of loose balls. Kate Wadlow and Jess Whittlesea’s defensive game was again consistent, though with many turnovers, NC’s Megan Peters and Katie Allen shot some fabulous goals. At half time BBH stepped up the pressure and all players were able to disrupt North Clare’s game and a more settled last half by BBH saw them run out the game. Best Player: Kimberley Tippet. Incentive: Kimberley Williams. C2 BBH 9 lst NC 58 North Clare got off to a flying start, helped along by 2 slick goalies in Michelle Francis and Mel Helbig. BBH settled well but were up against a better opposition. Kat Whetstone (BBH) showed her strength and versatility and Emily Schuppan showed her experience in the last quarter. Incentive: Emily Schuppan. 15U BBH 12 lst NC 47 North began the game with a strong defence throughout their team. Although we got off to a slow start the girls quickly picked up the pace and fought back for the ball. Sophie Brooks shot some spectacular goals. Annie Kellock played an amazing game in goals for the first time and Shante Nugent showed great control and created lots of space. A big thanks to the North Clare girls and coach for giving the girls a fair game. Best Player: Annie Kellock. Incentive: Shante Nugent. J1 BBH 13 lst NC 38 North began the game with a strong defence throughout their team. Although we got off to a slow start the girls quickly picked up the pace and fought back for the ball. Sophie Brooks shot some spectacular goals. Annie Kellock played an amazing game in goals for the first time and Shante Nugent showed great control and created lots of space. J3 BBH 13 def NC 6 The first quarter was evenly matched with only a 2 goal difference. North were able to pull away with accurate shooting and BBH worked hard, trying their best all day. Well done girls on a great team effort and support. Incentive: Josie Rains. J4 BBH v NC Both teams started the game with strong, clear passages of play. Gabby Mader, Milly Squire and Issy Bray were terrific in defence for BBH making it difficult for North’s accurate goalies, with North Clare’s Chloe working hard defending around the ring. Stacey Overton, Kloe Berryman, Georgia Hook and Caitlin Squire provided strength in the midcourt picking up loose balls and creating turnovers through intercepts. A great match to watch. Incentive: Gabby Mader. J5 BBH v NC In a very well contested game, both teams played consistently with more accurate shooting by North Clare. Bethany Mader defended the ring well and Issy Bray intercepted often. Jessica Skinner from North Clare played a good leading game. Good accurate and improved passing by the BBH girls. Well done.
