BSF steps up vigil along IB Excelsior Correspondent JAMMU, Dec 1: After gruesome fidayeen attack in Arnia, BSF is not takng any chances and has increased its round the clock vigil to defeat the nefarious designs of the neighboring country to push in trained infiltrators to disturb election process in the plain areas of Jammu and Kathua belts. It is apprehended that Pakistan may resort to cross-border firing to disrupt elections (in J&K) and for that we have made elaborate arrangements, Inspector General of BSF, Jammu Frontier Rakesh Sharma told reporters here on the sidelines of a function. Elaborating on the measures taken to prevent repeat of such incidents, Sharma claimed Intense vigilance and security measures have been put in place along the border. Keeping in view the elections in Jammu and Kashmir, the security has been strengthened, he said. Asserting that investigating into the terror attack is being done by the police, the IG said, There is a militant build-up and training camps across the border in R S Pura and Samba (sub-sectors along the borderline). They (militants) are always waiting for an opportunity to get in…, Sharma said, but our endeavour is to keep area dominated and not allow any chance for them. The IG said it is a well established fact that Pakistani Army and Rangers are fully aiding and abetting terrorists by training them and helping them in infiltration bids.
