BSN NUMBER (OR SOFI NUMBER) (English & Spanish) It is the Tax and Social Security number everybody living in Holland must have. Why do I need this number? You need this number if, for example, you wish to open a bank account, receive your salary or apply for benefits, or take out a health insurance (wich is obligatory). To apply for a BSN (Burgerservicenummer) you need to arrange an appointment with either your local office of Tax Administration (Belastingdienst) calling 08000543 or City Hall within four months of your arrival. In AMSTERDAM: Knigfordweg 1, 1043 GN (near Sloterdijk Station). Other cities have got their own office. EU citizens need to provide a valid proof of identity ID or Passport(not a driving license) and their registered address (rental contract, electricity/gas/broadband bill), while for non-EU expats other documents (residence permit, registration, employment contract etc.) have to be presented too. NOTE: Driving’s licenses are not accepted. If you come from Liechtenstein, Norway, Iceland, or Switzerland you must have a note/sticker in your passport that permits you to stay and work in The Netherlands. Lo necesitas para, por ejemplo, abrir una cuenta bancaria, recibir tu salario, pagar impuestos o recibir beneficios, o para coger el seguro médico (completamente obligatorio). Para solicitar el BSN number tienes que solicitar una cita o en la oficina de impuestos “Tax Administration office” (Belastingdienst) llamando al 08000543 o acudiendo, en no menos de 4 meses desde tu llegada, al Ayuntamiento de la ciudad en la que residas. Los ciudadanos de la UE deberán presentar su carné de identidad o pasaporte (no se acepta el permiso de conducir) y el registro de su dirección (contrato de alquiler, facturas de gas, luz o internet, etc.) mientras que para los no residentes en la UE será necesario el permiso de residencia, registro de su dirección, contrato de trabajo y el pasaporte (el permiso de conducir no es válido). Si vienes desde Liechtenstein, Noruega, Islandia o Suiza deberás tener un sello o pegatina en tu pasaporte que te permita vivir y trabajar en Holanda.
