BTEC held semi-annual School Advisory Dinner By KarenBrosi BTECHDirector On Thursday, April 10, the Boonslick Technical Education Center held their semi-annual BTEC All-School Advisory Dinner. Everyone joined together for a nice evening of a delicious ham dinner made by the Boonville R-1 Kitchen Staff. All of the programs at BTEC have an individual advisory committee who meet to keep up with industry standards, curriculum, budget, and economic and educational needs of our community. We had the pleasure at the meeting of adding the marketing advisory committee for the new marketing program, which will open in the fall. At the general session Dr. Ficken and Dr. Gann spoke about community happenings involving BTEC. Mrs. Brosi spoke about the new additions to BTEC with the marketing program and being number one on the list for possibly opening JROTC. Our individual committees discussed dual credit, curriculum, safety and security, equipment purchases, industry-recognized credentials, and student engagement. We were served our meal and assisted by our wonderful BTEC Student Ambassadors: Carly Esser, Jake Lenz, Amanda Hampton, and Noah Heaton. We were treated to beautiful music provided by various soloists and a trombone quartet from Boonville High School. We are growing at BTEC and have a wonderful teaching staff who make a difference in the lives of students and the surrounding communities. If you would like to know more about the BTEC programs, feel free to contact Karen Brosi, Director at 660-882-5306 x. 7200 or by email at [email protected].
