BUDGET 2013-14 KEY POINTS 1. No agricultural tax - Big win for the Elite class 2. Increase in Sales tax by 1% - Indirect form of taxation which cripples the poor and middle class which the rich escape its ambit. 3. No increase in wages for employees - Rs. 15000 promise = Josh-E-Khitabat. 4 Increase in Prices of Electricity, Petrol, Sugar, Ghee. so that poor people can purchase them. 5. Shadi Tax to control population and Haji Tax to control Hajj Corruption. 6. 15% increase in Defence Budget - So much for PMLN being anti-establishment. 7. No more Tax Relief for packaged milk and bottled water (among other things) - Again the poor will suffer. Now they will have to pay more to drink clean water and uncontaminated/impure milk. 8. Reduction in duty and tax on car importation - Again, a measure which assists upper-middle class and the rich. A poor man cannot afford a local car let alone an imported one. 9. Money allocated for Motorways - Really PMLN? Can Pakistan really afford to spend money on roads that only the elite will use? 10. Loans for graduates and small businesses - And what will be the interest rate? 8%? How do you expect them to pay this loan back without a job or if their business does not take off. Are you suggesting a 100% success rate with these loans? 11. Corporate tax reduced from 35% to 30% - Yes of course! those poor people, living below the poverty line, need our support so that their corporate businesses can grow. 12.Education budget 1-2%? So much about 5% Education budget. Liars! How can people bring these scums back is beyond me.
