BUHARI/OSINBAJO VS JONATHAN SAMBO: NOT A CONTEST BUT A MENTAL TEST - TopicsExpress

BUHARI/OSINBAJO VS JONATHAN SAMBO: NOT A CONTEST BUT A MENTAL TEST - Going by the meticulous and well calculated choice of Professor Yemi Osinbajo as the running mate of the APC Presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari, its clear Nigeria is well on its way back to normalcy after a turbulent ride in the hands of PDP. Just like Buhari, Prof. Osinbajo is a serious Nigerian whose credentials are way above average qualification among traditional Nigerian politicians. A Professor of Law and a Pastor, Osinbajo is simply a confluence of intellectualism and godliness. The choice of Prof. Osinbajo could be seen as a continuation of serious efforts to consolidate the gains of the rancor free and acceptable primary elections that produced Buhari, 36 states gubernatorial candidates and all aspiring federal and state legislators across the country for the upcoming 2015. APC is a testimony that, after all, democracy is not the trip to Jupiter kind of hectic task Nigerians are forced to believe it is by the ruling PDP. For 16 years Nigeria have been practicing democracy in theory while in reality the system in place is not definable or even imaginable. In Nigerias pseudo-democracy, all known democratic principles are mutilated and thrown to the dogs. Its a democracy without the basic democratic requirement of freedom of choice and options. In Nigeria, against whats normal in every democracy, individual opinions most be compliant to the whims of the Party and leader of the day or kept unexpressed. PDP made Nigeria the only democracy on planet earth with dividends that exist only on paper while the elected unelectable leaders and representatives spend funds appropriated for national development promoting blatant lies. Perhaps, with APC Nigeria is set for a real change. Its not easy to wave away the promising performance of APC in the just concluded primary elections conducted across the country. The overwhelming success recorded by the Party practically turned it into something more than a political Party. Its now a mental test machine for Nigerians to assess their sense of right and wrong. Certainly, if after the manner APC/PDP conducted their primary elections one is still contemplating where to place his/her sympathy - especially if ones sympathy is tilting towards the dull, uninspiring and brutally destructive PDP with its equally uninspiring Jonathan/Sambo one way ticket to hell, one should know he/she is a confirmed case for a mental institution. With the just ratified choice of Professor Osinbajo, a Senior Advocate with an intimidating local and international record of achievement to fly the APCs presidential ticket alongside General Muhammadu Buhari, it could be said that politics of thuggery and economic misery are now entirely a matter of choice in Nigeria. Only hopelessly lost cases of mental retardation could fail to see and appreciate the windows of opportunities these two fine gentlemen could open to usher in a new - VERY REAL - fresh breeze in Nigeria. Only a certified OLODO will sacrifice the tons of integrity and unquestionable quality of the BUHARI/OSINBAJO option for a JONATHAN/SAMBO option that spent each day of the last 4 years turning Nigeria into Sudan/Somalia/Rwanda rolled together. Not even Okupe/Abati could be dumb to fail this test. Believe it or not, this is not a contest but a simple do it yourself mental test. To begin, while Buhari/Osinbajos ticket was earned through a fair and well documented contest, Jonathan/Sambos ticket was a simple DASH organized by a glutinous group of unpatriotic Nigerians living fat on the clumsiness of the accidental President and his equally accidental deputy. One dont need to have a full brain to see the huge integrity gap in the two processes. Unless you are a Nigerian living on Mars, you cant help but agree that the last 4 years have been one hell of a wild ride that you dont wish to remember, much less repeat. The tragic history of PDP, especially this closing chapter is such that no matter your positive assumption and definition of security, you are touched in one way or another by the precarious Nigerian security situation that has grown into a roaring monster under the pretentious watch of a visibly inept President and his vice. Under their watch, powerful Ministers and Presidential Advisers had came face to face with the monstrous insecurity threatening the corporate existence of Nigeria. Under this regime, a powerful cabinet Minister, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala had her mother kidnapped and was only released after ransom was paid according to grapevine. Ahmed Gulak, another powerful Special Adviser and a very loud supporter of the fictitious reforms of the government have to live with the sad memories of the despicable manner he lost his father and how the corpse remained unattended for days because his Gulak home town was no longer part of Nigeria and was under the comfortable control of a deadly sect which marauding activities he spent a chunk of his time convincing Nigerians was nothing to worry about. Talk about Karma! The mother of all scandals and, of course the indisputable proof that Nigeria is running on a faulty autopilot was the comical kidnapping of the Presidents uncle. It was the final blow that shattered any assumption about the capacity of Nigerian leaders to provide minimum level security even within their households much less, a larger situation. It convincingly disproved any notion of Nigeria being a civilized modern society operating on principles of law and order. Even worse, it exposed an unimaginable lack of control and ineffectiveness of a President that many want to have the world believe is a super magician with ability to create safety, development and progress that no one could see but few selected cronies. You dont need to be of average intelligence to see through these porous and unintelligent lies. With half a brain, one could see and appreciate the dangers facing Nigeria if nothing is done to save it from its current leaders. For God sake we are talking of a President under whose watch corruption achieved a horrifying degree of legality so much so that a honest public officer who alerted the nation about possible illegal spillage of the nations scarce resources in the oil sector was harassed out of office just to protect some untouchable associates of the President holding the nation to ransom. Under this regime Nigerians were treated to comical and childish government responses to sensitive cases of national importance. Who will deny that Princess Stella Oduah should have been in prison but for the intervention of the Presidency. Oduah was caught red handed serving her pockets rather than her fatherland yet, not only was she given a soft landing, today shes heading for one of the chambers of the National Assembly probably to create laws that will suit her morality. A step above Princess Oduah was the flamboyant oil minister, Mrs. Diezeni Alison-Maduake. Mrs. Maduake is rumored to be so powerful that she could have her way even in issues that involves the powerful and abrasive Nigerias first lady, Mrs. Patience Jonathan. Many people were rumored to have fallen victims to the cold war between the two powerful women that, according to General Obasanjo belong to a quintet group of women dancing skelewu with Nigeria precariously wobbling on their heads. God bless Nigeria
