~~ BULK STORM POST - 4 STATES ~~ A Trough extending from WA to NSW via the NT is leading to widespread Thunderstorms across both the West and East of the Country, leaving basically South Australia dry in the meantime. To begin with NSW: Mutliple Surface Troughs throughout the State are influcing the main Trough, which is leading to a build up of Instability across the Northern Districts, and North of Sydney. While a separate Surface Trough is feeding down into the Snowy Mountains which could result in a few Isolated Storms both North and South of the ACT. For the Northern parts of NSW though, Storms are likely with some of these potentially becoming Severe. The focus for Severe Storms is North of Newcastle and East of both Scone and Moree. With these Storms: • Strong Winds and Hail are LIKELY • Damaging Winds & Large Hail are POSSIBLE • Heavy Rain is LIKELY • Frequent Lightning is LIKELY Storms are likely to move towards the East to North-East throughout the afternoon where they could creep over the border into Southern QLD. Over to WA/NT: Storms are likely through the Southern Pilbara and Northern Gascoyne, while typical afternoon Thunderstorms are expected to spark up in both the Northern NT and Kimberley. Over the Pilbara and Gascoyne, some of these Storms could become Severe during this afternoon with the main threat being Damaging Winds. Heavy Rain is a slight chance, but this will be limited to the cores of Storms. Frequent Lightning will be on the agenda to thanks to an increase in Instability along with High Temperatures.
