BUREAUCRACY OR CORRUPTION? So I was driving when the call came in and thinking it might be from the hospital i picked up. The voice on the phone identified himself as the NYSC state coordinator of Adamawa state and wanted to know if i was DR Hassan. After confirming ma identity he proceeded to inform me that a sum of money attached to an NYSC award I bagged during ma sojourn there was to be paid into ma account and needed to confirm if was still operating NYSC account. Cool, great news especially with the message some weeks earlier that the state government had offered me automatic employment. NOW this is about 2 YEARS after I bagged this award and it got me QUESTIONING... ~ WHY did it take this long to give out the money? ~DID someone somewhere sat over the largesse? ~DID the state happened to get God-fearing coordinator? ~MAYBE the STATE government just released the money? ~IS this CORRUPTION or BUREAUCRACY on the part of GOVT or NYSC? ALL these went through ma mind but I realised I had even forgotten about the award n d money basically because ma intent while executing ma community projects was not for these material rewards but then if the point of the award was to reward SHOULD it take this long? WELL, it wasnt so hard for me then to rechannel the award stipend to finish up some of ma projects thati cudnt finish due to lack of funds. AND here i would say NAGODE to KADRI KABIR, AOFOLAJU DEBO, YEMI, OYELAMI MUTIU, *ABUBAKAR ZUBAIR,DR SANTURAKI, MA FELLOW CORPS MEMBERS then and the good people of HONG community. NAGODE. I hope someday our Great Nation will work
