BURKINA FASO: At least three people were reportedly killed in Ouagadougou ahead of a parliamentary vote on Thursday which could have paved the way for President Blaise Compaoré to seek a third term in office and extend his 27-year rule. Burkina Faso’s National Assembly was later ransacked and set ablaze by protesters. State TV also went off air after protesters stormed the building, according to Reuters and local sources. Amid ongoing unrest in the capital, The chief of the Burkina Faso army announced in a televised statement on Thursday evening, the dissolution of both the government and the general assembly.
