BURNLEY MP Gordon Birtwistle has called for a full Commons vote before any decision is taken to roll out badger culling nationwide. He has signed a Parliamentary motion expressing concerns about pilot culls in the West Country to stop the spread of TB in cattle. It says: “We note the mixed evidence from similar schemes abroad. We note that after culling in the pilot areas has finished in 2013, the results will be evaluated and a decision taken on wider roll-out and a decision is expected in early 2014.
