BURNSIDE TRANSITION GROUP WEDNESDAY EVENINGS. 7-9PM This is a newly established group working with an identified group of 10 young people in P.7 that may well find the transition between P7 and S1 difficult. We provide a safe and comfortable environment to discuss their anxieties, expectations, hopes and fears of moving to High school after the summer. The group will hopefully develop organically with suggestions from the young people and ideas from the staff. From these discussions will stem art activities, positive language and attitude projects, fun team building games, visits and talks from High school pupils and various activities based on their requests and needs. So far we’ve had fun designing personal positivity shields, playing memory games with descriptive language, successfully ran a ball along lengths of guttering, baked DELICIOUS chewy choccy cookies and we plan to make healthy smoothies and work more on self confidence and esteem and currently developing a power point.
