BUSHFIRE WATCH AND ACT : Eden Valley Time Message Issued: 10:29 19/01/2014 CFS advises that a large bushfire is burning between Truro and Eden Valley in the Barossa Valley. Fire conditions have eased and the forward rate of spread has largely halted. Whilst there is not a imminent risk to lives, weather conditions are erratic and there is potential to break control lines. Those living in or traveling through Truro, Keyneton, Graetzown, Towitta, Moculta, Eden Valley, Sanderston, and surrounding areas should remain vigilant, enact their Bushfire Survival Plan and know what to do if the situation changes. Report any fire that is unattended to 000. Those in the area of the fire need to remain aware of local conditions and monitor the situation. The Sturt Hwy is now open with speed restrictions in place. Drivers are urged to remain vigilant as fire crews are still working along the roadside. More updates will be provided as the situation changes. A Community Meeting will be held at the Kapunda Institute Hall today at 1.00pm. Stay tuned to this radio station on a battery-powered radio for updates.
