#BUSHRA #CETresults not possible early: BOPEE Politicians Only Fooling People: Chairman >>Terming the assurances by Government to declare Common Entrance Test (CET) results forthwith a ‘political gimmick’, the Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (BOPEE) Chairman RD Sharma Saturday said politicians issuing such statements were only fooling people. MoS Home Sajad Kichloo, MinistersAli Muhammad Sagar, Muhammad Akbar Lone and Political Secretaryto CM Tanvir Sadiq had earlier assured that CET result would be declared within shortest possible time, with Kichloo promising it in 24 hours after the exam. The BOPEE Chairman said that Sajad Kichloo should also ‘tell public which magic wand he holds to claim that results would be declared within 24 hours.’ He saidto evaluate answer sheets of 80 thousand students is ‘not a joke’ and BOPEE doesn’t want to take any risk by making haste to prepare results. “We cannot declare results withintwo or three days. We have to evaluate around eighty thousandanswer scripts of aspirants and we don’t want to take any risk,” Sharma told Greater Kashmir overphone while replying to a query. He said: “Politicians want to become cheap heroes before media. Media should ask them how it is possible to declare results within 3 days.” He said that politicians were making these statements for their vote bank. Asked whether BOPEE will make any effort to prepare results shortly as the aspirants have faced time loss, he said: “We don’t have any control over time.Aspirants’ time lost is now past story and we cannot reverse the clock. We should ignore that all and move ahead.” “People should not pay any heed to commitments made by politicians. It is only officials whohave best knowledge what to do,how and when,” he said. Refusing to set any deadline for results, he said: “Results cannot be declared within two or three days.” Meanwhile, MoS Home Sajad Kichloo has termed Sharma’s comments as arrogant. Kichloo said he would take up the matterwith Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. “Everyone is worried about the loss aspirants have faced. Government is committed to declare results forthwith.” He said that inquiry into paper leakage is going on and those found involved would face the music. Meanwhile, CET for admission to under graduate professional courses for 2013-14 began on Saturday as per revised schedule at 34 centers of Jammu and Kashmir. After infamous paper leak incident, BOPEE decided to start afresh and canceled all the papersheld on June 22 - inviting flak from all quarters. While the Board has constituted special teams to keep a close check on entire process for holding the test, the State Government had made suitable arrangements to keep vigil on the examination process which will continue on Sunday.
