BUST ALERT: Well folks ... This storm has aged me & it looks like theres an ever-increasing chance of the score by morning being Mother Nature 1 ... Forecasters 0. Yes, we were all reading that westward jog earlier correctly, but what that westward jog seems to have caused is the clipper (Low #1) to transfer energy more slowly than it should have to Low #2. The result is I am seeing little progress in this all pulling together into one huge storm in time. New England will still get buried because by then the storm will be all together. In other words, the westward jog all the snow fans wished for may have hurt (or helped us, if you hate snow) in the end. Im going to come out and say this may go down as one of the bigger busts in the end, sorta along the lines of March 2001. One thing we here at M.M.W.H. never do is get arrogant about our knowledge. When were wrong, we admit it while the others write five pages of well, we were kinda sorta right ... etc. :-) And because of that, we rarely have arguments on our page. Its a positive environment that I am proud of. But as for our storm, M.M.W.H. calls it now. BUST. Still think since areas see random periods of snow overnight as these week bands press thorough. Maybe even a heavier band or two. Maybe we squeak out a few inches in spots. One thing, weve all learned a few things following this storm. And if you like snow and your heart is sinking now reading this, a light at the end of the tunnel is the next few weeks stay COLD so whatever falls will be wintry. And if this storm somehow gets its act together through some miracle soon, then so be it. But I dont see it right now. Onward we learn and move.
