Babette Holder · Yesterday a democrat that is running for County Clerk, in my county couldnt answer hardly any of the questions put forth by me and a fellow conservative friend. She couldnt tell me about the medical assistance in the county, she just mention discounts, no maam there are many other programs (not perfect mind you, but there), nor could she answer question #3 (#3 asked if the county should be responsible for those that cant qualify for medicaid insurance) on their questionnaire ballot, or should I say explain it very well at all, except to state, well there are those that cant afford the ACA because they make too much, so then I said you mean those that dont qualify for subsidies so they got a premium total that is about as high if not more than most traditional mortgage payments in some cases and in others its reasonable but higher than regular group insurance? She said uh..yeah..I said so the democrats didnt count on that factor for the middle class, so now you want to tax the county more for those folks? I also added, so let me ask you this, why since your party is suppose to be so much smarter, not go after some of the practices of big health care industries? They have been doing things for years that leads to high premium costs as well as whimful and harmful dropping of insureds? She had the audacity to look off to the left as if she needed help from the others at her booth mind you and state, well we proposed that legislation but the party of no of course shut that down! I said really when and what legislation? Ive never heard of it, do you know the bill number? No answers...I finished by telling her that we are the 23rd highest property tax county in the NATION, last thing property tax payers need is more taxes! By then me and my friend moved on...Sweet heavenly Father where do they find these people to run for office?
