Baby Jack update: Jack was so excited when some visitors arrived - TopicsExpress

Baby Jack update: Jack was so excited when some visitors arrived today. Nonnie brought my littlest brother, Uncle Delane, over to spend the night. Jack gets to have a sleepover and in the morning, we will wish Halston and Delane happy hunting as they head out into the woods. (Actually, I plan on sleeping through the whole thing.) Jack had fun playing with Delane and sitting in Nonnies lap reading storybooks. I think Jack gets his love of reading from Nonnie. She can get lost in a book faster than anyone I know. I was glad to spend time with my mom and show her my new Christmas tree in the living room. My favorite part of the day was setting up Jacks little Christmas tree in his room. I got all the tiny ornaments out and showed Jack how I was going to hang them on the branches. I was prepared to plunk Jack into his crib to watch at a safe distance in the likely event of him going on a rampage and trying to eat everything. But to my pleasant surprise, Jack did not go wild; instead he very carefully started picking the gingerbread boys and snowmen out of the box and attempted to hang them on the tree. He was so quiet and serious, until I showed him his new dinosaur ornaments and he started to roar at them. But when he saw they were decorations as well, he sweetly set them in the tree with the others. Wow! First he eats his Thanksgiving dinner all by himself, and now he is calmly decorating his Christmas tree. Next thing I know, he will be all grown up! I was genuinely shocked that Jack was such a well behaved participant today. I am learning, that he is capable of much more than I give him credit for. I have had this same type of realization many times as I walk with The Lord. God is able to exceed my expectations in every situation. I shouldnt continue to be surprised when He works everything out again and again. And yet, The Lord never ceased to amaze me. We dont have to worry about praying for something thats too big. God specializes in the impossible. If we simplu believe and have faith in His Word and Power, Jesus will work miracles in our lives. Do you realize that so many times, the only thing standing in our way, is a lack of faith in Him? If He can stretch out the heavens in His arms and raise Himself from the dead, can He not answer our prayers? And the Lord , He it is that doth go before thee; He will be with thee, He will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed. (Deuteronomy 31:8) Pray believing, pray specifically, and pray about everything, big and small. Expect great things. He will not fail. I praise The Lord for answering my prayers and for exceeding my every expectation. Thank you for praying to keep Jack healthy and safe.
