Baby Jack update: This morning, Jack woke up, requested his bottle, and then spent half the day wagging it around, even when it was empty. He doesnt just wag his bottle around though, he has started carrying things around all the time. He has always got some little something clenched in his little paws. He can even crawl carrying something in each hand (which would be very hard to do, if you think about it. Jack is a determined little boy! This afternoon, we went to visit our friend Judy, who had surgery recently and took her a casserole. Jack had fun looking at all her knick knacks and touring her beautiful house. She gave him two crackers and he was over the moon. It doesnt take much to make him happy these days! This evening, Jack was happy to see his girls had come to church and had fun playing with them. The girls were not so thrilled about starting school next week. The kids may not all be glad to return to school, but there is no stopping that big yellow bus from honking outside their houses Monday morning. They have to go because its the law, but more importantly, they need to go so that they can learn every day. God has given each one of us a mind capable of great things. Whats fascinating is that its able to take in what seems to be an unlimited amount of information and store it. (My problem becomes that I have trouble remembering where I have stored particular information, at times.) Dont you think we should put our minds to good use and try to learn something new about The Lord each day, as well. Did you know we could spend every moment of our entire lives trying to find out everything there is to know about God and still come no where near discovering all He is? O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are His judgments, and His ways past finding out! For who hath known the mind of The Lord? or who hath been His counsellor? ... For of Him, and through Him, and to Him, are all things: to Whom be glory for ever. Amen. (Romans 11:33-34, 36) God is infinite! There is always something new to learn about Him and we will keep finding out more even after we are in Heaven. The amazing thing is, that the more we discover about our Creator and King, the better it gets! As we learn about Him, He only becomes more beautiful and amazing than we thought before. The only way to learn more about God is to spend time with Him. We can find Him in His Word, in prayer, and any time we just open our eyes and look around at the glory of His creation. This school year, lets learn more about Him. I praise God for revealing more of Himself to us as we seek His face. Thank you for praying to keep my learning boy, Jack healthy, eating, and breathing.
