Back door is open with a wonderful breeze coming in. The sun is out. A new day. The honeysuckle just blooms more and more orange flowers across the top of the arbor, and purple morning glories are wide open and crawling all over 2 trellises crossing over onto each other and up onto the arbor, the big heart shaped morning glory leaves are all fluttering in the breeze. Trumpet vines are so full on the arbor they are drooping all over with no place left to go. The pretty little pink snapdragons have not given up and are standing theyre own ground still blooming. The birdbath is full of fresh rain water that a big fat robin spies. The purslane in the big clay pot is still blooming its pretty cup shaped orange and red flowers all stretched up to the sky. The lambs ears are hardy and just keep filling out, they really are as soft as a lambs ear. The mourning dove is singing his sad cry and the bluejays have announced their presence with their squeaky hinge call. Translation from the bluejays call, where are our peanuts? . The woodpeckers like the suet that hangs from the top middle of the arbor, they are built to holding onto things like that. The other birds try to hang onto the suet cage to nibble at it but they tire easily. I hear a different noise this morning, a different bird call Im not used to. I stand in the doorway and there on the arbor at the suet is a half dozen black-capped chickadees. So pretty! Instead of their usual call, chickadee dee dee dee! they are making a different call, I go and look it up, and thats it, tseedleedeet!. They allow me to stand and watch them as they perch on the hanging vines on the arbor that surround the suet. I say good morning Sissy I know thats you and I grin. I hope you all have a day out there that brings you a grin too.
