Back from a four hour trek North of Los Angeles to Lake San Antonio for the 9th annual Lightning in a Bottle festival. Truly amazing whats possible when people put their minds to something positive, especially at such a remote location. The festival site was blanketed with campgrounds and creative stages for artists and speakers with attendance somewhere around 13k. The people watching was definitely a highlight, and performances by Moby, Little Dragon, Amon Tobin, and Damian Lazarus were memorable. The biggest challenges for the festival include the climate (hot and dusty by day, and cold and unforgiving at night) and the rugged terrain (a series of peninsulas and dry riverbeds). If youre up for an adventure campout with an inspired music program at night, and conscious lifestyle activities during the day, this is a festival for you, but its definitely not for the faint of heart.
