Back from an inspiring day at the Genocide Memorial Day event in Amsterdam. What struck me most was the speech of Abulkasim Al-Jaberi of Back to Palestine, saying one cannot liberate themselves and others unless one truly loves themselves. Many were taught to hate themselves, Blacks through centuries of the slave trade and ongoing racism, Whites often as well because nowadays it takes a lot to be a cool White! :D Progress starts from within, we need to heal the hurts that are inflicted upon us as individuals, groups, communities, races, counties, in order to rise above our oppressors and oppression.
