Back in 1943 my dad, and grandfather unearthed a small cave-like structure a few miles from their home in Gobernador N.M. This is what they found. My dad told the story of how a bright eyed, young Indiana Jones type kid, begged his father to look for buried Spaniard Conquistador treasure. One day my grandfather reluctantly gave in to my fathers 13 year old incessant pleas. And believe it or not. That very day, they came up with these gems. Pretty cool huh?.(My father had a far more interesting, and riveting way of telling this story.) A traveling archaeologist offered a couple of hundred bucks for the lot. Evidently a lot of money to those that were in short supply of it. The archaeologist kept his end of the bargain, by sending duplicate photographs of the find. According to my dad, these artifacts now reside in a museum, or private collection somewhere in Santa Fe. wouldnt it be nice to personally show my kids what my pappy found some 70 years ago?
