Back in Brooklyn, but drinking in the tastes of Huehuetenango, a bag of unbranded coffee that I bought in a completely nondescript grocery store in Barillas, the kind of small store that one finds by the dozens in every city and town in Guatemala. The young man who sold it to me told me that it was local but there was no other information about the coffee, no label, no nothing, but it is a much darker roast and finer grind than one usually finds in Guatemala in coffee that is not specifically designated for export and sold in tourist-oriented locales... I only bought one little bag because I had no idea how good the coffee was going to be/En Brooklyn otra vez, pero bebiendo los sabores de Huehuetenango, una bolsa de café sin marca que compré en una tiendecita completamente anodina que uno encuentra por la docena en todas las ciudades y pueblos de Guatemala. El jóven quien me lo vendió me dijo sue era local pero no había más información sobre el café, no etiqueta, no nada, pero era un tueste mucho mas oscuro y molido mas fino de lo que uno encuentra normalente en Guatemala en un café que no es especificamente designado para exportación y de venta en lugares turísticos. Solamente compre una bolsita porque no tuve idea que bueno sería...
