Back in December my cousin ask me if I would open with prayer for his dad who had unexpectedly and suddenly passed away. I cant tell you how honored I was to be part of my uncles memorial. For me it meant one thing, I had to look to the authoritative, inerrant, infallible word of God for inspiration, guidance, and wisdom. In doing so I came across a part of scripture that pierced my heart. I cant explain it but I know it to be true. It says in John 5:39-40 You search the scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me. But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life. It also says in 1Thess.4:17 to pray without ceasing. I believe prayer changes things and it sure does help in time of need. There are a lot of hurting people out there and maybe have fallen on hard times. Maybe lost a love one, family, friend, coworker, job or someone we may know has. I will make it a point this year and following to lift up family and friends in prayer and pray that God will meet your needs and lift you up and strengthen you in time of need.
