Back in December of 1998 Me and my buddies Kevin Nagano Flavio Conte and Peter Ivals were sitting first class on an American Airlines flight from Toronto to LA and noticed a man going through notes and then realized it was a Hollywood script. That distinguished gentleman was the one and only and legendary DENNIS FARINA. He looked like and cop or a mobster and played the role of both in his career. The Sicilian-American was a real life police officer in Chicago for 18 years and then became a TV star on many shows including Crime Story and roles on Miami Vice, HardCastle & McCormick and was Detective Joe Fontana on Law & Order and most recently on Luck on HBO and made hundreds of other TV and Movie appearances including Get Shorty, Saving Private Ryan. Midnight Run and many many more. FARINA died this morning in a Scottsdale, Ariz., hospital after suffering a blood clot in his lung. He was 69. RIP DENNIS FARINA
