Back in Kirkwall now. Heres my itinerary. Edinburgh to Orkney - TopicsExpress

Back in Kirkwall now. Heres my itinerary. Edinburgh to Orkney mainland. Flight to Westray with Ann Cleeves. She went on to Papa Westray. We fly in the tiny plane. Too small for my long legs. Ace views. Orkney is beautiful. I know because I used to live here. Rich green pastures which raises best beef in UK. It was so sunny and bright, looking down the water was crystal clear, the white sands beneath. Had a lovely time with Westray afternoon club. Ann arrived from Papa and we were off again by mini island bus to the ferry, which transported us back to Kirkwall. The wonderful librarians then drove us to Burray where we had a fab time and a fiddler. Anne and I discussed our Shetland and Orkney books to the assembled and enthusiastic crowd. Afterwards we headed to Angus Konstams house in Kirkwall. Angus is an ace writer of historical fiction latest book on Bannockburn. He awaited us weary souls with food and wine. Hats off to Angus. Today I was headed for Sanday on the peedie plane to meet Paul Harrison true crime writer and former detective at his Writers retreat. He and Mandy were excellent hosts for the event for Glenquoy writers. Much fun, questions and laughter. Plane back cancelled due to mist so caught the ferry instead with Myra a Sanday resident who had been at the event. Great chat and we shared a meal together tonight. Shes a Rhona MacLeod fan(recent). Orkney as wonderful as ever. Many thanks to everyone at Orkney Library and of course all Orcadians.
