Back in September 2013 we saw a Dr at University hospital (a specialist in non-smoker lung cancer) that recommended a range of tests that would check for genetic mutations. They can test for about 40 or so mutations and they have specific medications for about 10 of them. So we had the tests done and it came back that he had no genetic mutations. We knew the tests would be expensive, but we thought that insurance would cover them. At first it was denied. So our Dr in Canton wrote the company and sent the letter and it was denied again. This has been going on for 15 months. We have never received a bill for this, so our dr said that they would probably write it off as research. Jut now my phone rang and it was the company telling me that they had a bill for us for the testing. She said it had been denied and it was not going to be covered so she needs to verify our mailing address. I asked her how much is the bill? and she said 5,000.00. Nice. Merry Christmas to us! She said we can make payments, and she said that there is a form to fill out listing expenses that we already have to incur and she said that they will take that into consideration and maybe lower our bill. *sigh* It will be all OK. We will be fine. We have had a great year and we are still enjoying good health. whats one more bill, right??
