Back in the 90s there were people who claimed HOLLYWOOD would eventually wind up with only 2 studios; DISNEY and WB. We came close to seeing that happen here. All that would have been left would be PARAMOUNT and UNIVERSAL and if one of them merges with WB were one step closer again. If PARAMOUNT and WB merge they would have the hugest animation library in history. Theyd have the WB, FLEISCHER, GEORGE PAL, MGM, and COLUMBIA libraries not to mention DREAMWORKS and CLASSIC MEDIA (Which owns a plethora of animation studio libraries too.) Id prefer to see everyone separate but Im afraid merger is the way of the future with the big studios as they become irrelevant in the modern climate where anyone can make a film. This might be a good thing in maintaining these classic film libraries though because they have the money to do it. It might also mean theyll become so large that films will get lost in the shuffle too... theblaze/stories/2014/08/05/21st-century-fox-withdraws-proposal-to-purchase-time-warner-inc/
