Back in the day, I had my power turned off due to poverty (though created by my own vices). They were kind enough to send me several notes and even a phone call or two, but I just kept thinking I could make it one more day. Then one day it was dark and I realized just how much I truly needed power. Ever felt that way spiritually? Has God been sending us a reminder? In the Kingdom, money has nothing to do with getting power from God. You could raise up the largest check in the world and not even get a shock. No, our spiritual poverty is pride. Instead of not having enough to keep the power on, we have too much to keep it flowing. In fact, we pull the plug. We have so much pride, we ask for it to be shut off. We shut off the power with calling on God only in an emergency, reaching for our favorite food, pill, unhealthy relationship, etc. in every single crisis and celebration, drinking a little more, sharing and being accountable a little less, and devising pages of our own self help strategies for total wellness. We can get a little ways down the road on our own, but eventually it goes dark. Try the 5 Ps of Power. 1. Petition for Power. Ask for unlimited access. 2. Pay with Praise. Thank Him for the free, yet high priced gift. 3. Plug In. Pull pride from the outlet. 4. Prayer. Be specfic about Power needs. 5. Peace. The end result of Divine Power. Tom
