Back on the GUC today for a short session, headed to a mark I have had my eye on for the last month or so, some interesting fish observed and one target in particular. Started quite slow, the clarity was not there and boat traffic was heavy. However the occasional swirl and fish scattering held my attention. A red isome on a 0.9g jig head dropped through a gap in some backside weed and the rod buckled, then went slack, fish lost. Next cast same again this time the reel went screeching off and I Had to get into the water to put side strain on the fish, a spirited battle and a new PB rainbow trout from the GUC of 4lb 11ozs. A few Perch and a great display of fishing from a young kingfisher ended the session.
